KURA Patisserie Singapore
Rachel Chong is currently the Co-owner and Chef Patisserie of the newly established Kura Patisserie Singapore. Together with her partner and co-owner, they create Kura which means ‘storehouse’ in Japanese to store their special treasures — their decadent French pastries with a Japanese twist. Rachel discovered her passion for baking while in school and learned her craft at at-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy. After interning at Swissotel The Stamford, Rachel continued to hone her skills working with the pastry team at Equinox to create signature desserts. In her quest to discover new flavours and techniques, Rachel participated in numerous competitions like the Singapore World Junior Pastry Cup Challenge 2016 where she placed 1st and this gave her the opportunity to represent Singapore in the
Junior Pastry World Cup (SIGEP) held at Rimini, Italy.
