WGA 2020 E-Booklet

The World Gourmet Awards, formerly known as the Awards of Excellence, is an industry recognition programme that acknowledges individuals and organisations who make significant contributions to the development of the F&B and hospitality industries.

Moving on to the 20th year, will recognise the award recipients on 20th April 2020, coinciding with the opening of the World Gourmet Summit 2020.
You may nominate a personality or/and an establishment that you think deserves to be recognized. For example, if you have dined in at Restaurant ABC, and you feel that they deserve the Restaurant of the Year award based on the given criteria, you may nominate them for this category.
The evaluation process consists of 3 rounds. In the first round, nominations will be submitted by the general public and F&B professionals, and those who have nominated via our website. Nominations are collated and tabulated. The 10 highest scoring nominees for each award category will be selected to proceed onto Round 2.

In the second round, online voting will be open to the public with the exception of Lifetime Achievement Award & Sustainable Award which will be decided by the Organiser. All nominated individuals and businesses are actively encouraged to garner  votes from the general public through whatever marketing tools they are engaging.

In the final round, a selected group of key industry decision makers are invited to evaluate the finalists and select the most outstanding finalist. Results are then submitted to an independent auditor.

Award Finalists will attend the World Gourmet Awards Ceremony on 20th April 2020 and Award Recipients will be announced then.
Nominations for Round 1 will begin on the 1st November 2019 until 31 December 2019. The results will be released publicly on 11th of January 2020.
You can choose to. However, you are only required to nominate industry professionals that you know of. Even better if you have experienced their talent firsthand!
Each person is entitled to vote / nominate only once per award.
After the tabulation, the top 10 nominees will move on to Round 2 as semi-finalists, and top 5 will move on to round 3 as finalists respectively.

Please refer to the Evaluation Process for more details.
