The World Gourmet Awards, formerly known as the Awards of Excellence, is an industry recognition programme that acknowledges individuals and organisations who make significant contributions to the development of the F&B and hospitality industries.

Moving on to the 19th Year, WGA will recognise 38 awardees on 22nd April 2019, coinciding with the opening of the World Gourmet Summit 2019.
You may nominate a personality or/and an establishment that you think deserves to be recognized. For example, if you have dined in at Restaurant ABC, and you feel that they deserve the Restaurant of the Year award based on the given criteria, you may nominate them for this category.
The evaluation process consists of three rounds. In the first round, voting and nominations will be open to the members of the public. Nominations and votes are collated and tabulated. The 10 highest scoring nominees for each award category will be selected to proceed onto Round 2.

In the second round, a selected group of F&B professionals and connoisseurs are invited to vote in all award categories in a closed round of voting. Nominations are collated and tabulated and the top five highest scoring nominees for each award category will proceed to the final round for final assessment.

In the final round, a selected group of key industry decision makers will evaluate the finalists and select the most outstanding finalist. Results are then submitted to an independent auditor.
Nominations for Round 1 will begin on the 22nd of October 2018 until January 2019. The results will be released publicly on 21st of January 2019.
You can choose to. However, you are only required to nominate industry professionals that you know of. Even better if you have experienced their talent firsthand!
Each person is entitled to vote / nominate only once per award.
After the tabulation, the top 10 nominees will move on to Round 2 as semi-finalists, and top 5 will move on to round 3 as finalists respectively.

Please refer to the Evaluation Process for more details.
