Academy at-sunrice and Johnson & Wales Culinary Scholarship
Award Recipient 2006
The
Awards of Excellence Scholarships were established in 2002
for individuals from the younger generation of the food
and beverage industry who possess the potential to grow
in the culinary and, food and beverage professions. Through
the years, the scholarships have groomed promising talents
in Singapore by providing opportunities for self-improvement
and personal development.
Organised
by Peter
Knipp Holdings Pte Ltd and supported by the Singapore
Tourism Board, the scholarships are open to potential
talents in the food and beverage industry in Singapore between
the ages of 18 and 26.
For
2007, three scholarships will be presented to those aspiring
for a greater career in this dynamic industry. Recipients
of the scholarships will receive an opportunity to attend
bond-free courses or partake in apprenticeships at renowned
establishments, with return air-tickets and accommodation.
Applications
for the scholarships will commence on 1 September 2006 and
end on 13 October 2006. All eligible applicants are required
to undertake a written test, where the five highest-scoring
candidates for each scholarship will be shortlisted to undergo
a second and third phase of selection — a practical
assessment followed by an interview session.
